Rubber on Shock Absorbers: Guardian of Mechanical Vibrations

Definition of Rubber on Shock Absorbers

Rubber on shock absorbers, also known as rubber isolation pads, are important devices widely used in modern industry and daily life. They utilize the unique elasticity and damping properties of rubber materials to eliminate or reduce the transmission of mechanical vibrations, shocks, and noise. This effectively protects equipment and structures from damage, improving the stability and service life of the equipment.

Types of Rubber on Shock Absorbers

Elastomeric Rubber on Shock Absorbers

Includes spring type, extrusion type, and embossed type. This type of rubber on shock absorbers primarily uses the elastic deformation properties of rubber to absorb vibrations and shocks.

Damping Rubber on Shock Absorbers

Includes leaf spring dampers, hydraulic dampers, and pneumatic dampers. This type of rubber shock absorber primarily utilizes the interaction between damping materials (such as liquids or gases) and rubber to dissipate vibration energy, achieving shock absorption and energy absorption.

Superelastic Rubber on Shock Absorbers

A new type of rubber on shock absorbers materials. They feature a micron-level air pore structure that can absorb vibrations and shocks through the deformation, damping, and friction of the air pores.

Working Mechanism of Rubber on Shock Absorbers

Rubber on shock absorbers are materials used to prevent the transmission of vibrations and shocks or to buffer the intensity of vibrations and shocks. Generally, there are three methods to control vibrations: reducing the excitation force of the vibration source; isolating the vibration source from the structure; and reducing the structural vibrations by attenuating the vibrations of the vibrating body. Shock absorbing rubber is mainly used for the latter two methods. By increasing the damping and elasticity of bonded rubber bushes, the vibrations and responses of the structure can be reduced.

Application Overview of Rubber on Shock Absorbers

The main applications of rubber on shock absorbers include construction, transportation, construction machinery, aerospace, electronic instruments, and other fields. In the construction field, rubber on shock absorbers are often used for earthquake protection, structural isolation of buildings, and noise control. In the transportation field, rubber on shock absorbers are commonly used in roads, bridges, railways, and subways to reduce the vibrations and noise of vehicles and trains. In the construction machinery field, rubber on shock absorbers can be used for vibration reduction and noise abatement in large machinery such as excavators, pile drivers, and vibratory rollers. In the aerospace field, rubber on shock absorbers ensure smooth landings of aircraft and safety during missile transportation.
